Firefox 126.96.36.199 and 188.8.131.52 -- the latter the first update to Firefox 2.0 since that browser debuted in October -- will be posted on Mozilla's update servers between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. PST. By 10 a.m., however, the new versions are to be available for manual downloading from the Mozilla site. The number and severity of the patched security vulnerabilities were not known early Tuesday.
Firefox 1.5, which was last updated in early November to 184.108.40.206, will be dropped from Mozilla's support list in April.
Versions for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux will be released simultaneously, as is Mozilla's practice. According to Mozilla developers, the Windows updates have been tested and work as expected in Vista.
