EMC to Invest $100M in India

Bolsters development center in the 'Silicon Valley of India' to handle Asia/Pac growth

A company spokesman says the India investment will consist of approximately $20 million in each of the next five years for development, sales, and support.

Bangalore is the city of choice for tech companies. Known as the "Silicon Valley of India," Bangalore is home to development centers of nearly 1,000 tech companies. Cisco Systems Inc. (Nasdaq: CSCO), Hewlett-Packard Co. (NYSE: HPQ), IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM), Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL), and Network Appliance Inc. (Nasdaq: NTAP) are among the U.S. companies with facilities there (see NetApp to Open Facility in India).
