Autonomic Resources Awarded BPA

CARY, N.C. -- Autonomic Resources, a progressive source of IT solutions for government and commercial customers, today announced it was awarded a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) to protect sensitive, unclassified data residing on government laptops, mobile computing devices and removable storage media devices. Through the SmartBUY enterprise software program, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) and U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded Autonomic Resources one of ten data-at-rest encryption contracts with a five-year duration and the potential to result in contract values exceeding $79 million.

With the current IT environment of highly mobile data and the evolution of increasingly smaller devices, protecting data at rest has emerged as a mission-critical function for government agencies. Devices such as laptops, USB flash drives and PDAs with stored personally identifiable information and sensitive government information can pose a large threat if compromised. Autonomic Resources is partnering with SPYRUS, Inc., an innovator in portable high-security hardware and software products, to offer the SPYRUS Talisman/DS Data Security Suite of comprehensive data-at-rest encryption solutions for PC hard drives, external drives, portable drives and removable media such as CDs and DVDs.

“We are pleased to partner with Autonomic Resources in offering the only hardware and software solution for government agencies in this significant effort to strengthen data security,” stated Tom Dickens, Chief Operating Officer, SPYRUS. “Our team offers a comprehensive understanding of the security-in-depth encryption requirements of data at rest to protect sensitive and personal data.”
