    Byte and Switch: Ah, yes, the DAFS Collaborative, a hip-hop trio of cloned comic-strip ducks, no?

    Watson: [Laughs] That’s them.

    Byte and Switch: No, seriously, are they a political group?

    Watson: That’s closer. The idea of DAFS [Direct Access File System] was to create one standard network file system protocol rather than all the proprietary ones out there and for it to work at least as well as block-based approaches such as Fibre Channel.
