Security Companies Unveil Products, Updates At Interop

Several security companies are releasing new products to kick off Interop, a business-technology conference being held in Las Vegas this week.
Security companies make up about a quarter of all the exhibitors at the conference, and news out of the sector includes database security, wireless security, and network behavior analysis. Here's some of what vendors announced on Monday:
Q1 Labs, a network security management company, unveiled today its QRadar 2000, an appliance offering of its flagship product specially priced and packaged for the small-to-midsize business. Offering full log management, security event correlation, and network behavior analysis capabilities, the QRadar 2000 is designed to address the challenges of a small -" or even singular "- staff and the small security budget that many small and midsize companies face.
The appliance is aimed at enabling SMB administrators to manage both network and security business operations from a single console. Pricing for the QRadar 2000 starts at $17,900. It's slated to begin shipping May 30.
Websense announced new software designed to protect organizations from suspicious Web sites. Websense Web Security Suite 6.3.1 uses pre-emptive classification intelligence in its patent-pending ThreatSeeker technology. The security company added three new Web site categories to its suite, enabling IT administrators to manage their level of Web security based on risk tolerance.
