9 Technologies Security Researchers Will Break At Black Hat
, July 29, 2013 This week's Black Hat USA Conference in Las Vegas will showcase hacks, tools and ideas that will once again challenge the way we think about IT security. Here are nine technologies that will be on the firing line as security researchers discuss and demonstrate vulnerabilities and exploits.

A trio of researchers from Bloodspear Research Group will introduce a new proof-of-concept tool that brings distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks to the next level by effectively bypassing today's commercial DDoS mitigation tools through a technique they describe as "emulating legit traffic characteristics." They'll also propose some new countermeasures that could stop the type of attack they'll describe.
Meanwhile, WhiteHat Security researchers will offer insight into how it would be possible to hack online advertising networks to easily take over user machines via JavaScript browser vulnerabilities on a massive scale, potentially creating a million-browser botnet that could wreak tons of DDoS damage, among other havoc
