Quick Takes

This Edition: InfoCyclone; Ipswitch WhatsUp Gold; Network Associates McAfee IntruShield 1200; Empirix e-Test Suite for Web Services.

InfoCyclone uses proprietary SQL technology to speed things up in your Oracle databases. This add-on appliance sits between the application and the database servers or between the database client and server, depending on your architecture. The InfoCyclone monitors SQL traffic for resource-intensive queries and sends them from the database to the appliance, where it executes the query using its own SQL technology, thereby decreasing database resource consumption and improving response time to queries. Available: Later this month.

4 GB: $50,000; 16 GB: $150,000. InfoCyclone, (866) 234-1176, (603) 766-1914.
