Andy Dornan covers software and application infrastructure for Network Computing, with a particular emphasis on Service Oriented Architecture and integration tools. Before he joined Network Computing, Andy was a networks analyst at research firm The 451 Group, focusing on the financial side of enterprise IT. As an editor and columnist at Network Magazine, he won more than a dozen industry awards including two Jesse H. Neals from American Business Media.

Andy has also worked in hardware and software support, covered networking technology for magazines including Red Herring and The Economist, and contributed to reference books on security, network architecture and XML programming. His solo book, The Essential Guide to Wireless Communications Applications, has been published in multiple international language editions and is used as a standard text by many U.S. colleges. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Imperial College, London and a master’s in Science Communication from Queen’s University, Belfast.
