Top 10 Startups to Watch
Posted by Mary Jander on March 27, 2007
Spring is a time of renewal -- the right time to rip into our list of Top 10 Startups to Watch, replacing the old and moldy with the fresh and frisky.
As you'll recall, we instituted this list last year, when memorializing the top private storage networking firms had become an exercise in rehashing the same players over and over again. (See Multi is the New Black.)
Indeed, validating our shift of view, the storage market built sufficient momentum in recent months to push longtime residents of our older Private Companies list, like CommVault, Isilon, and Riverbed, into the public markets. (See CommVault Swims in Public Pool, Riverbed Comes Out at $9.75, and Double-Take, Isilon Go Public.)
At the same time, the startup counter is turning over faster than ever.
New firms are sprouting innovations in all areas of storage networking and data management. The challenge is to pick from the abundant litter -- an exercise that's resulted in the article you're reading now.
