Level 3's New Converged Business Network Simplifies Telecommunications Services For Enterprises

BROOMFIELD, Colo.(BUSINESS WIRE) Level 3 Communications, Inc. today announced the introduction of its Converged Business Network service, offering its enterprise customers a comprehensive solution to handle all their voice, Internet and data networking needs through one carrier, one circuit and with one bill. The new converged service offers simplified and economical bundles, enabling more efficient management of telecommunications services.

Level 3's Converged Business Network provides multiple individual telecommunications services over a single circuit, reducing access costs and the complexity of managing multiple services. The new bundled services reduce the time companies spend managing telecommunications services, freeing up resources and improving overall efficiency. Level 3's Converged Business Network also features intelligent bandwidth allocation, enabling enterprise customers to simplify bandwidth needs for critical business objectives by leveraging dynamic bandwidth sharing amongst multiple services.

"In a globally competitive marketplace, enterprises must increasingly find new ways to optimize process and improve overall organizational efficiencies," said Eric Paulak, managing vice president for Gartner, Inc. "Simplifying telecommunications services management has become a fundamental element in this endeavor, and providers that offer converged service solutions are well-positioned to capitalize on this trend."

Level 3's Converged Business Network option is now available to enterprises across North America. Services available include Level 3 Dedicated Internet Access (DIA), Level 3 Internet Protocol Virtual Private Network (IPVPN) and Level 3 Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking voice services. Standard packages offer Ethernet connectivity with speeds as high as 100 megabits per second (Mbps), scalable voice features and more. Leveraging the Level 3 Managed Services portfolio, available bundles also include secure remote access, built-in firewall and managed router services.

"Level 3's efficient IP, VPN and SIP networks offer enterprises a set of reliable and scalable infrastructures for their critical telecommunications needs, and Level 3's Converged Business Network ensures that resources are not wasted by combining each of these assets into a series of enterprise-focused bundles," said Sara Baack, senior vice president of Product Management for Level 3. "We are pleased to offer enterprises the chance to optimize their voice, data and Internet services so that they can focus on those core elements that drive their businesses forward."
