Verio Rolls Out Line Of VPN Solutions

Verio has expanded its IP services portfolio with the announcement of a new line of virtual private network (VPN) solutions. The SafeGuard Plus network-based managed VPN services are intended to provide enterprises of any size with an easily-deployed remote or point-to-point networking solution.

"Our VPN customers range from smaller enterprises to large, Fortune 500 corporations with multiple locations on a global scale, and our SafeGuard Plus suite is designed to provide them with a fully managed portfolio that meets their diverse network requirements," Verio vice president of global solutions Mark Teflian said in a statement.

SafeGuard Plus is a fully managed VPN suite offering customers ubiquitous secure network access, either point-to-point, or remote access to corporate head offices through a network operations center (NOC), or through equipment on their customers' premises. In either case, Verio claims its solution is more cost-effective and easier to manage than traditional VPN services.

The SafeGuard Plus Suite offers remote access users a choice between IPsec or Secure Sockets Layer security. Key features for both the remote access and point-to-point offerings include IPsec tunneling aggregation at points of presence, critical traffic aggregation, and full-time network management at Verio's NOC. Like the rest of the SafeGuard portfolio, the new offerings include a range of security features, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
