This edition looks at Red Gate Software's SQL Bundle Developer Edition, NetSupport's Manager 9.0 and j2 Global Communications' eFaxSecure.

NetSupport Manager 9.0
NetSupport adds Pocket PC and Linux support to its NetSupport Manager for desktop management, help support, mobile computing, software training and system automation. Improvements have been made to enhance desktop management and support initiatives. The new Monitor Mode details a thumbnail view of all remote PCs, includes a whiteboard function with tools to aid in training and chat sessions, and offers improvements to the user interface. Secure PC access is available over a LAN, WAN or for remote users over the Internet. Features include dynamic inventory, automated scripting and scheduling, file-transfer capabilities, remote deployment, system monitoring and help-request support. Starts at $99. NetSupport, (888) 665-0808, (770) 205-4456.

j2 Global Communications eFaxSecure
In an effort to support compliance with new federal and state requirements, j2 Global Communications' latest service, eFaxSecure, offers secure Web access to confidential documents as well as other file formats, such as tiff and pdf. Used in conjunction with the company's secure VPN and encryption as made available through its eFax Corporate subscription, eFaxSecure sends an e-mail containing an encrypted login link rather than the actual fax attachment. The link opens an SSL connection from which the subscriber can log in with an eFax Corporate PIN to view the fax. Subscribers can store, access or forward secure faxes using eFaxSecure. Starts at $2 per fax number. j2 Global Communications, (866) 761-8115, (323) 860-9200.
