And we can't even blame this dearth of management products on the vendors. We're the ones voting with our budgets. If we want products that simplify the creation of network-management policies and the configuration of our networks, systems, applications and services, we must make it clear to vendors that we're willing to put our money where our mouths are.

You've probably seen our recent articles on outsourcing network and systems management and SNMPv3. And we have more management storiesin the works.
