In fact, even though IPv6 is deployed in very few places, it's already causing problems. For example, if the Advanced Networking Pack for Windows XP installs IPv6. But quite a few people have found when they use IPv6 under Windows, they can no longer connect to the Internet. The only solution: uninstall IPv6. There have been other reports of IPv6 problems, for example with sendmail.

Going wholesale to IPv6 will be a headache for all, and IT folks are smart wanting to go slow. Yes, it's true that ultimately IPv6 is the way to go. But berating users for not caring at this point helps no one.
