The BCM43460 is the world's first WiFi system-on-chip designed to address the growing demand for gigabit speeds in enterprise, wireless, and carrier networks. Based on the latest IEEE 802.11ac technology, it is 3 times faster and 6 times more power efficient than existing LTE or 802.11n technologies. Featuring a dual-band 2.4/5 GHz IEEE 802.11ac draft 3x3-compliant integrated MAC/PHY/Radio, the BCM43460 doubles spectral efficiency of prior hardware. The dual-band radio transceiver supports 3x3 antennas for data rates up to 1.3 Gbps and embedded hardware acceleration increases system performance while reducing host CPU utilization in access point configurations. Airtime fairness allows efficient use of channel time in dense, mixed 11g and 11n environments.
