Intel Demonstrates Wireless Power

At its developers forum, Intel demonstrated a way of transmitting 60 watts of power two or three feet, without wires or other physical connection.Using a technology developed at MIT called "resonant induction," the Intel demonstrators managed to light a 60-watt bulb through an antenna two feet across, while losing 25 percent of the power in the transmission. The existing capabilities may not be impressive, but the goal is to get the antenna small enough to fit in a notebook computer. Notebooks and other portable devices could then be charged just by placing them near a wireless power device, eliminating power cords and other office clutter.Brighthand
