In this edition we look at UniPress Software's FootPrints 6.5, Software602's 602LAN Suite 2004, Adtran's NetVanta 5305 and Symantec's Enterprise Firewall 8.0.

Software602 602LAN Suite 2004
This SMB-targeted network e-mail server provides firewall, antivirus, antispam and e-mail service from a single Internet account. Its Bayesian antispam filter and whitelist/blacklist features, combined with antivirus scan based on ICSA-certified BitDefender technology, promise to eliminate potentially harmful e-mail. The suite also notifies managers of updates and automatically downloads new versions of software. $99.95 to $699.95. Software602, (888) 468-6602, (904) 642-5400.

Adtran NetVanta 5305
With the SMB in mind, Adtran has released its NetVanta 5305, part of the 5000 series of access routers for high-bandwidth applications. The routers support corporate frame relay and point-to-point connectivity over two unchannelized DS-3s; two autosensing 10/1000Base-T Ethernet LAN ports support LANs or DMZ applications. The add-on VPN capability gives users up to 2,000 IPsec tunnels supporting DES, 3DES or AES encryption. Chassis: $6,995; Chassis+T3: $8,890; Chassis+Dual T3: $10,785; Chassis+T3+VPN: $10,285. Adtran, (800) 9ADTRAN.

Symantec Enterprise Firewall 8.0
Enterprise Firewall 8.0 is designed for T1 and Gigabit Ethernet connections on Microsoft Windows and Sun Solaris platforms. The firewall's stateful high availability/load balancing delivers automatic failover of firewall and IPsec-compliant VPN sessions. You can manage individual firewalls from a Web GUI or use the add-on Advanced Manager for centralized policy management of thousands of security gateways. Other add-ons include logging, reporting and alerting functions. Service from Symantec Security Response, a security research organization, is included. Prices range from $2,695 for 25 nodes to $11,995 for unlimited nodes. Symantec Corp., (800) 441-7234, (408) 517-8000.
