The Barracuda Spam Firewall now has enhanced capability to detect image spam, the fastest-growing category of bulk e-mail. A new OCR engine performs multiple passes over images to defeat attempts to hide or obscure text. Image-based fingerprints are also delivered to appliances hourly from a central database. Barracuda claims a 95 percent accuracy rate in detecting and blocking image spam. Pricing starts at $1,499.
