You cannot access or use a printer connected
to a specific Ethernet station node or file server as an unshared printer.
Check the Ethernet station node or file server to which the printer is connected
and the printer itself to make sure that they are configured with all the
proper hardware and software components and the correct configuration parameters.
Are any incorrect configuration parameters present in either the respective
Ethernet station node or the printer?
Take the necessary action to resolve the problem and retest the printer
for proper operation. If the failure symptom is gone, record the problem
in the network maintenance and service log. If the problem still exists
after retesting, go to the next step.
Attempt
to run any available printer diagnosti
cs and test the printer cabling.
Did running the diagnostics and testing the printer cabling produce any
errors?
Take the necessary action to resolve the problem and retest the printer
for proper operation. If the failure symptom is gone, record the problem
in the network maintenance and service log. If the problem still exists
after retesting, go to the next step.
A
configuration problem may still exist with the printer or the printer network
software. Refer to the respective printer and printer software manufacturer's
instructions.
