Consumers beware!
The definition of software defined storage is being aggressively manipulated by large incumbent technology providers who stand to lose a lot as this technology gains traction. The idea that you can use system software overlaid on commodity hardware to duplicate and exceed the capabilities of traditional tightly integrated and proprietary IT infrastructure is compelling and disruptive! No wonder they're scared and confusing the definition.
