Re: Cloud-based UCC trials
Dan, thanks for your response. I can see how truly integrating a PoC would be a large investment of time and resources, both for the vendor and the client.

Re: Cloud-based UCC trials
Susan, depends on how large and complex your IT environment is to warrant a provider to make such a PoC investment.  The market is shifting to a paid discovery, consulting and design model, found commonly in the Microsoft world, due to uniqueness of everyone's IT environment.  However, if SFDC integration is critical to you most of the cloud-based UCC providers have integration to SFDC at the client level.  Many small to medium sized organizations could avoid such integration issues by purchasing the entire UCC suite from their selected hosted provider.

Cloud-based UCC trials
Dan, I'm wondering about the cloud-based UCC trials you mention that are available. Would you recommend against that type of pilot project, since you are unable to test how the solution works in conjunction with your other IT systems?

Good advice but what are the gotchas
Thanks for clearly laying out these UCC deployment tips Dan. I was wondering if you could describe some of the biggest issues that organization stumble over. Are they related more to technical issues or project management?
