Great article here. Been working on AWS for over a year straight and these type benchmarks are much needed. For Windows-based AWS servers, performance has been tricky due to various OS versions (i.e. Windows Server 2003, Server 2012, Server 2008, etc...) and HVM/PVM enabled OS's. Same thing with Linux. It's great to see someone do proper comparisons.
