One of the impact i see is Storage Virtulization which will help to manage use and access within their own pools.

Thanks for your comment aditshar1. Interesting point you raise with SDS (software-defined storage, right?). Could you elaborate on what kind of impact you think it might have?

I agree to blog completely, rather than multi tier design now experts suggest and comment on two tier model which says performance or SSD and capacity on HDD/magnetic media. In fact, one of the main themes i see growing these days is SDS which keeps Control and Data plane separated.

I'm curious if readers agree that the storage tiers have become outdated. Is there a better alternative that would be more helpful to organizations?
