Executive Profiles Fritz Nelson Publisher Fritz Nelson is Network Computing Magazine's publisher. He is responsible for the overall direction of the magazine. Prior to joining Network Computing, Fritz worked with Martin Marietta's Computing Standards group -- a team that tested and evaluated technology, and whose objective was to set corporate computing and networking standards. Previously, Fritz has served as the reviews editor, the features editor, executive editor, editor and editor-in-chief. He has been with the publication for eight years. Fritz serves on the Networld+Interop advisory board and the Comnet advisory board. He has also appeared on "The Next Wave" with Leonard Nimoy.
Fritz was a technical writer for USBI, a subsidiary of United Technologies that manages parts of the solid rocket boosters for the space shuttle program. Fritz graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in journalism.
Under Preston's leadership, InternetWeek launched new sections focusing on how enterprises are deriving tangible returns from their Internet technology investments; reorganized beats along clearer technology and vertical industry lines; established an editorial advisory board of IT and e-business luminaries; and created the annual InternetWeek 100 special issue, which ranked the nation's leading Internet technology users.
Preston previously spent three years at InformationWeek, most recently as senior managing editor, overseeing the
industry-leading magazine's news and features coverage.
