Network Computing Real-World Labs® LIVE during Networld+Interop, Atlanta
Georgia World Congress Center
Tuesday, September 11 through Thursday, September 13, 2001
Overview:
At the Network Computing Real-World Labs® LIVE Event, Network Computing editors lead discussions on products, technologies and current issues in a live forum. The event features half-hour, hands-on demonstrations, located in high traffic lobby locations at leading trade shows. Sponsors conduct one-on-one demos following each presentation and benefit by meeting with an educated, target audience.
Mobile Computing:
From m-Commerce to enabling a highly mobile workforce, the promise of pervasive computing begins with the enterprise-focused products and technologies that will equip the mobile professional. With secure and reliable access to business-critical information, these products and technologies will prepare the business warrior for battle in the new digital frontier. Mobile computing begins at an enterprises' core with content management, it moves forward with mobile proxies and gateways, and ultimately reaches the wireless PDAs and next generation cell phones--not to mention the management and upkeep of these end-user devices. Building the mobile professional's arsenal is no easy task, but the tools and infrastructure are here to lend a hand.
Wireless Connectivity:
Untethered access to information and the freedom to roam, offers great flexibility within an organization. Besides, who needs wires anyway? Wireless networks were once very costly and impractical for all but the most vertically oriented enterprises. But with the speed and performance of today's solutions, the landscape looks very different. Interoperability is here in the local area network (LAN) and standards are maturing in the personal area network (PAN), making wireless laptop, handheld and PDA connectivity a reality.
