well done
Thanks, Bill... you've hit the nail on the head with this one. Virtualization and cloud are huge drivers--and we have to evolve with them.

Simplicity through convergence
One thing that I didn't hear him mention is that converged infrastructure has really simplified a lot of the formerly disperate systems.  In years past you had to have your SAN infrastructure and then tie all of your servers to it then you had the LAN infrastructure, etc.  By converging some of these pieces you really make your headaches go away since you can push all of your traffic across bigger pipes and shorter distances when you're in a SMB environment.

Re: What else
Converged Datacenter is requirement of today seeking to power comsumption and infrastructure cost..i think it should work in same manner as cloud works...security still top's the concern list of Cxx section.

What else
Thanx Bill for putting this topic here, getting down to siloed architectures and IT sprawl, virtualizing IP and Fibre Channel storage networking...sounds really interesting ...but thing, who will manage it..say 2 competitors sharing same infrastructure for some reason ...how easy you find them to handle...
