AdRem Intros NetCrunch 4

NEW YORK -- AdRem Software, provider of network management solutions, announced a major upgrade to its NetCrunch solution for the agentless monitoring of heterogeneous networks. NetCrunch 4 is designed to ensure high-level network/systems performance and availability across major network platforms (Windows, Linux/Unix and NetWare) and SNMP v1,v2, and v3 devices.

NetCrunch 4 introduces several key performance enhancements that substantially extend the program's monitoring capacity. Central to the version 4 is the prioritized monitoring and advanced alert suppression (via node dependency) mechanism. As a result, NetCrunch efficiently uses available bandwidth and computing resources while monitoring more than a few hundred of nodes.

Other highlights of NetCrunch 4 include:

    - Policy-based remote access (via a Web browser) to program objects and operations
    - Support for the secure version 3 of the SNMP management standard
    - Report customization capabilities

Borys Skraba, AdRem's VP Sales, said: "With these improvements, administrators can for example configure critical infrastructure devices with their own monitoring hierarchies that reflect existing management goals and network structure. In this way, alerts triggered by dependent nodes are suppressed, allowing users to focus first on crucial issues and quickly determine the root cause of the problem."
