Where the Cloud Touches Down: Simplifying Data Center Infrastructure Management

Thursday, July 25, 2013
10:00 AM PT/1:00 PM ET

In most data centers, DCIM rests on a shaky foundation of manual record keeping and scattered documentation. OpManager replaces data center documentation with a single repository for data, QRCodes for asset tracking, accurate 3D mapping of asset locations, and a configuration management database (CMDB). In this webcast, sponsored by ManageEngine, you will see how a real-world datacenter mapping stored in racktables gets imported into OpManager, which then provides a 3D visualization of where assets actually are. You'll also see how the QR Code generator helps you make the link between real assets and the monitoring world, and how the layered CMDB provides a single point of view for all your configuration data.

IQ NetSolutions Revs Latest Version of IP Telephony Suite

iQ Net Solutions has announced the availability of VistaPoint Enterprise 4.0, the latest version of its flagship IP telephony suite.

The new version includes two new IP telephony presence and call control applications. The VistaPoint Companion for Microsoft Windows Messenger embeds telephony presence and call control information in Windows Messenger messages, allowing users to place telephone calls from within the application. The VistaPoint Enterprise Directory offers an LDAP-compliant directory service that integrates with Microsoft Active Directory to provide users with desktop control over IP telephony calls.

VistaPoint Enterprise integrates advanced IP telephony features like presence and call control into IP and TDM-based PBX systems from disparate vendors. It integrates with Microsoft applications and is designed to facilitate enterprises' gradual migration to voice over IP. The suite features drag and drop call processing, and provides the status and presence information of every user in the enterprise in real-time.

"VistaPoint Enterprise 4.0 extends iQ NetSolutions' vision of providing productivity enhancing applications across heterogeneous PBX environments," iQ NetSolutions' director of Marketing and Product Management Greg Pisano said in a statement. "These new products represent our next step in delivering application solutions that make presence and call control ubiquitous across an enterprise."
