Cisco Live Unfolds: The Chambers Keynote

Join us to experience and weigh in on the John Chambers keynote as it happens from Cisco Live, today at 3:30 p.m. PDT.

The infrastructure community is abuzz this week with the 25th anniversary of Cisco's largest customer event, Cisco Live. Even if you can't be in San Francisco in person, you can join Network Computing as we cover the action all week. With 600 technical sessions available, nine keynote presentations, and a record-breaking 23,000 IT professionals, there's sure to be plenty to talk about.

Cisco expects up to 200,000 online conference attendees as well, and if you haven't registered already, you can go here to do so. Then join us today at 3:30 pm PDT (6:30 p.m. EDT) when Cisco Chairman and CEO John Chambers takes the stage for the opening keynote. Chambers is scheduled to speak about Cisco's role in the Internet of Everything vision and what it's calling "the new application economy."

Managing editor Marcia Savage and I will be following Chambers's thoughts and chiming in with our own reactions in the comments section below while the presentation is taking place. We invite you all to add your own comments, whether you are watching the keynote in person, streaming it on your desktop, or just checking in for an update.

We'll also be tweeting and posting content throughout the week, so let us know what you're interested in.

See you at showtime!

Re: Chambers keynote
UCS growth has been impressive (blade growth 38% year over year I believe). But when you start from the architecture you can grow more than incrementally.

Learned earlier today in one of the breakouts that the UCS manager was written before the hardware existed, pretty much requiring an extensible API that wasn't tied to a certain piece of silicon.
