The problem with the Internet isn't so much its nave or ignorant users as it is the complexity and vulnerability of its tools and building blocks. We need to simplify basic computer processes, like renewing virus checkers and downloading patches, or we need to make the operating software bulletproof in the first place.
Although there should be places the average user can go to brush up on fundamental computer procedures, if you need to be a junior IT administrator or paralegal to navigate the Internet properly and safely, something's wrong with the way the Internet is cobbled together, not with you.
