Oddly, NetApp is looking to get a boost from a partnership announced last week with RSA, which is owned by NetApp storage archrival EMC. (See EMC Secures RSA for $2.1B.) RSA, Decru, and others are working to develop key management standards. (See NeoScale Teams With RSA.) When asked if EMC's $2.1 billion acquisition of RSA last year validated the security market for NetApp, Gomo said, "Actually, yes, it has. I believe RSA will turn out to be a great partner for us. It may seem a little strange to have EMC and NetApp partnered, but this is one area where partnering makes a lot of sense."
