APC Announces Solutions

WEST KINGSTON, R.I. -- APC, the global
leader in integrated critical power and cooling services, today
announced the availability of its new Capacity Manager and Change
Manager software applications. With the launch of these data center
management software tools, APC becomes the first and only company to
integrate the three essential elements of data center design,
operations and management in one platform in order to optimize both
efficiency and effectiveness in the physical layer.

Capacity Manager
aligns the capabilities of the physical infrastructure with the
changing data center requirements in real time, tracking the optimal
installation location for new or existing equipment based on that
equipment's electrical load and thermal profile. Change Manager
enables rapid and accurate physical infrastructure changes including
installing, moving and decommissioning of IT equipment without
unexpected issues or surprises.

"With the current trend of higher power densities, blade servers,
virtualization and increasing energy costs the dynamic data center
environment will benefit from intelligent software tools to make
optimum use of existing physical infrastructure," said John DiPippo,
senior vice president, Management Systems and Software, APC-MGE.
"With the InfraStruXure(R) Central monitoring platform and these two
new software modules, APC pioneers the use of real-time data and
intelligent software modeling. Using Capacity Manager and Change
Manager, facility and IT professionals now can manage frequent
physical equipment changes in the data center, as well as determine
the effect planned changes and growth will have using 'what if' type
scenarios."
