Insurance Firm Picks IBM

Bristol West Holdings has built a SAN using powerful disk, virtualization and software technologies from IBM

ARMONK, N.Y. -- IBM today announced that Bristol West Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: BRW) has built a storage area network (SAN) using powerful disk, virtualization and software technologies from IBM to increase data availability, reduce costs and maintain consistent disaster recovery operations.

Bristol West, a leading provider of liability and physical damage insurance for private passenger automobiles across the United States, offers a comprehensive range of automobile insurance coverage at competitive prices. Bristol West needed a storage infrastructure supporting high availability and a reliable disaster recovery solution in the event of a failure at their primary data center.

Headquartered in Davie, Florida, Bristol West turned to IBM for a storage solution providing a tiered infrastructure that could help address the companys business needs. The company chose an IBM SAN that included midrange storage servers and storage virtualization software to replace its current HP disk solution.
