VPN Remote Access: Bay Networks Extranet Switch 4000
TBay Networks Extranet Switch 4000 provides robust VPN connectivity in bullet-proof packaging. Extranet Switch supports L2F (Layer 2 Forwarding) and PPTP (Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol), both dial-up VPN standards-track protocols, and integrates easily into your network and with outside organizations. Add to the versatility and robustness of the Extranet Switch an excellent management console, LDAP and RADIUS support for user management, and tiered user management, and you have a network device you can count on.
Among the most compelling features of Extranet Switch are its fault-tolerance and fault-recovery mechanisms. The CPU, hard drive and power supplies offer immediate backup in the event of failure. During initial configuration, the switch will back up the hard drive, OS and all configuration and log files to a network volume. At intervals, it will perform incremental backups to ensure that a restored system will reflect the most recent configuration and data status.
Bay Networks has simplified the complex task of security management on the Extranet Switch through an intuitive HTML and JavaScript interface.
