Best Software Distribution

WinINSTALL Is Top Distribution Product

Manually distributing software is time-consuming and costly. When you move software distribution to an automated process, look to WinINSTALL v4.0 from OnDemand Software. It's top notch. With WinINSTALL you can electronically distribute DOS and Windows applications with ease.
If you're looking to distribute Windows applications, WinINSTALL really stands apart from the crowd. Only WinINSTALL updates the Windows Registration Database (REG.DAT), which is critical for Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) applications.
One of WinINSTALL's key features is its ability to watch as a package is installed onto a workstation and automatically create a software distribution package for the application. No other distribution software we have seen does this.
On the destination workstations, WinINSTALL includes two programs that can be used to install application packages. One will automatically install all software packages on the destination workstations, and the user of the machine doesn't have a choice as to which applications will be installed. The other program presents the user with a list of applications that are available for installation. In this option, the end user must install the appropriate packages. Both programs can only be run from Windows.
Each software distribution package can have many options and characteristics. These range from a list of files to copy, modifications to the machines WIN.INI, SYSTEM.INI, CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files, as well as icons to be installed. WinINSTALL has a set of variables that can be u sed at installation for further customization. WinINSTALL works with most major network operation systems and has additional features for NetWare.
