This test will pit each solution head-to-head for comparisons of their ability to identify and alert on outages of NWC Inc.'s widget ordering transaction, manufacturing inventory, and end user experience. We will want to be able to identify as much as we can about the Web site and it's supporting infrastructure, at both the corporate and manufacturing site.

We will also be interested in capacity bottlenecks that can be identified. We are not expecting low level system tuning or system capacity testing. The service is to operationally monitor and track overall system performance, and to whatever degree possible, identify network, application, system, and client side performance indicators. Product Requirements

Vendors will need to engage and manage NWC Inc. as if handling an actual customer. If back end - components can be monitored, the following back end environments are in use at NWC Inc.:
  • WebSphere version 4.01
  • DB2 version 7.2
For more information about NWC Inc.'s business and general operating environment, please refer to A Start Up is Born.
