Reliable Software Code Co-op 4.0
Reliable Software announced version 4.0 of its Code Co-op collaboration software for sharing work over a LAN or e-mail system. The software's check-in and checkout capabilities update all member files, maintaining current versions of both binary and text-shared files. Additionally, a synchronization script lets updates open files. Team members can create a branch of a project and use the visual-differ function to compare versions. Co-op 4.0 also includes undo and redo as well as search and replace capabilities. The collaboration dispatcher offers mobile computing support, allowing for easy switching between LAN and e-mail collaboration. Code Co-op works with Microsoft Visual Studio and Visual SlickEdit as well. $159 per workstation.

Shavlik Technologies HFNetChkPro 4.0

Version 4.0 of its HFNetChkPro patch-management software offers improved scanning and deployment capabilities, including group scans, and improved management features, such as ping back and autodeploy. Alcatel OmniPCX Enterprise
Alcatel brings open source to IP voice communications with its new Linux-based OmniPCX Enterprise server platform. This all-in-one communications platform, which supports SIP phones, uses modular gateways to support any size network. Its management software works with both Linux servers and Alcatel blade servers and can be configured from a Web browser. Additionally, the LDAP client offers advanced search capabilities for searches within corporate LDAP directories. Other pluses include movable software licenses that let users change locations and an integrated H.323 gatekeeper. Starts at $5,230 for chassis with nine slots.
