Switch
Radware Application Switch II
Improved. Radware has released Application Switch II, its next-generation hardware platform. The Application Switch II improves on the capabilities of the company's original Application Switch by offering content-aware switching that routes traffic based on specific applications, the request destination or content in the actual request. The Application Switch II also offers increased performance over its predecessor with its 19.2-Gbps non-blocking backplane and 1-Gigabit throughput. It also provides additional processing power; it contains a Motorola PPC 7410 RISC based processor -- the previous incarnation of the switch used an MPC 750 266-MHz PPC processor. The Application Switch II sports either five- or seven-gigabit ports and 16 Fast Ethernet ports in a 1U form factor. Also included is 128 MB of RAM (upgradeable to 256 MB) with 8 MB of flash memory. The Application Switch II provides stateful failure and full-session mirroring when configured in redundant mode and can handle unlimited TCP sessions per second.
