Transaction   Controller
Abeona Networks Abeona K-2000 WTC
New. Abeona Networks has introduced the Abeona K-2000 Web Transaction Controller (WTC), a hardware-software solution designed to improve the performance of e-commerce infrastructures. The WTC works in place of or in conjunction with traditional load-balancers, switches and content accelerators. It uses proprietary algorithms to achieve a net increase in the number of transactions that a back-end system can serve, as well as a 10x increase in response time. The WTC includes both 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet ports and, rather than caching, can serve up static content directly from its internal hard drive. The WTC also optimizes Web transaction flow by combining customer-defined priorities with real-time information from intelligent Abeona agents deployed on application servers. Businesses also can prioritize which customers get served first in the event of overloads. Thanks to Abeona's clustering technology, multiple WTCs can be managed as a single system.

Available: Now. Starts at $25,459.

Routing   Control
RouteScience Technologies PathControl
New. RouteScience's first product is an Internet route-control device, PathControl. It measures the real-time performance of each available ISP link to end users passively, and can analyze performance metrics and customer preferences to determine the best ISP link for individual users. PathControl, a modular, 8U, 14-slot chassis box with support for two ISP links, delivers optimized Internet routing using a real-time, closed-feedback system. The device is intended to give enterprises and Tier 2 and 3 providers more control over their Internet performance by moving control over Internet routing decisions to the network edge. PathControl also can update the edge routers using the standard BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) automatically. Over time, the PathControl reports can help the organization objectively evaluate vendor performance.

Available: Now. $140,000 to $250,000 depending on configuration.
