Asita Technologies Asita LineSpeed GS2
New. Asita Technologies is targeting its Asita LineSpeed GS2 VPN and firewall device at the ASP market. The GS2 is a 12U-tall rack-mountable behemoth. The GS2 contains eight cartridge units that each runs independently and contains a modified version of Linux. Each cartridge also has two accelerated encryption units to handle high-speed VPN tunnels and supports two independent network setups. In essence, you get 16 VPN boxes and firewalls. All this equipment connects to a gigabit backplane. Eight free ports are on the trusted and eight are on the untrusted side of the network, allowing you to plug your own servers into the same network. For now, the GS2 does not have centralized management, load-balancing or fault-tolerance capabilities. Asita says it is working on integrating those features, and we look forward to recommending this product when those functions are added.

Available: This month. $75,000 to $375,000 fully loaded.
