When shopping for a KVM solution, look beyond the list price to the accessories that may be required for your environment. When dozens or hundreds of servers are brought under KVM control, the price of the special cables and adapters required can exceed the cost of the KVM switch. Cables can cost as little as $30, or as much as $250 apiece, depending on length and connectors required. Make sure you budget for such items accordingly.
