According to the ICSA 1999 Biometrics Survey (www. icsa.net), 330 biometric products, made by more than 150 vendors, comprised the 1998 commercial biometric market. The technology is real, and early adopters are using it. But for the most part, the players are small companies with only one or two products. Look for some market consolidation later this year.
