Until all NOS and application vendors agree on a common directory service, the need to synchronize disparate enterprise directories will remain. However, Zoomit is setting its sights higher--toward establishing a unified enterprise directory within its own product. The end result is to remove individual NOS and application directories from the tasks of user and resource management as much as possible, rendering them subordinate to the metadirectory.
